A protest and sit-in against Trump-care is happening on Thursday July 6th at Sen. Marco Rubio’s office, 402 South Monroe Street, Suite 2105E, Tallahassee, FL.

This action is part of a statewide/nationwide (35 states) protest and sit-in at GOP Senate offices across the country demanding Republican Senators vote NO on a bill that will take insurance away for 22 million people in order to give a massive tax break to the wealthy. Several Indivisible groups (and other progressive organizations) are participation with some starting a sit in at 9AM. Our group from Bay Indivisible will be there at 1PM ET as will a group from Gainesville.

Our coalition has a volunteer structure in place at Tallahassee including observers, police liaison, facebook livestreamer and jail support if you should choose to be arrested. Bring a sign (no stick) and water/snack. We will meet in the rotunda of the Capital at 1PM ET and proceed to Rubio’s office.

This will be a peaceful demonstration and the police should act professionally and respect our first amendment rights without incident. To this end please:
• Cooperate with all police orders and directives.
• Do not resist arrest or touch a police officer who did not initiate contact. Anything considered “unwanted touching” could technically be considered assault on an officer.
• Have your official state or government ID on your person during the action.
• If you are planning on being arrested, do not bring any purses, backpacks or valuables to the action.
